Mom told me (Sarah) that I had to make a cake for Abby's birthday while she took her out of the house for a couple of hours. Mom gave me the recipe and pretty much left me to tackle the kitchen.
She must have incredible faith in me because I would never leave myself in charge of making a cake from scratch! Soooooo. I enlisted Nathaniel to do it with me. I wasn't about to do it by myself, plus the more people that you have to help you with something means more people to help clean up! Brilliant!
Wow. lets just say there was a lot of: "huh?" and "what in the world does that mean?!" while we were reading the recipe.

Seriously how are you supposed to know when butter and sugar are creamed!
Doesn't butter look creamy to begin with! Uh! what people make us go through! |
We got them in the oven! They looked pretty good!
Then of course, we had to clean up. Not to mention as soon as everything was washed we had to dry everything and put it away so Abby wouldn't see baking dishes. So. Much. Work.
I looked in the oven and they looked sooooooo yummy! They turned out great!!!! Lets just say I did a happy dance ;)
It went so superb I gave myself a pat on the back. :) BUT do you have any idea how HARD it is to get the smell of chocolate cake out of the house???? Opening windows didn't do the job. It went as far as me running through the house with my tuna sandwich hoping the smell of it would help....(pause).... it didn't.
